G2 Esports' Richard "shox" Papillon and Kenny "kennyS" Schrub have won the HTC 2v2 Invitational after defeating North's Philip "aizy" Aistrup & René "cajunb" Borg in the final.
The French duo got off on the wrong foot in Bucharest, losing out to Space Soldiers' Ismailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş and Buğra "Calyx" Arkın in their opening match, but still finished top two in the group after defeating EnVyUs' Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom and Vincent "Happy" Schopenhauer, and Heroic's Jakob "JUGi" Hansen and Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen.
A 2-0 victory over FaZe's Nikola "NiKo" Kovač and Håvard "rain" Nygaard in the semi-finals then followed, with a 2-1 win against North's Philip "aizy" Aistrup and René "cajunb" Borg assuring them of a spot in the final.
Due to coming from the Upper Bracket, Richard "shox" Papillon and Kenny "kennyS" Schrub required just one best-of-three victory to secure the title. The first series went the North duo's way, but then the G2 pair hit back in the following series to win the match.
