New4 coach Nan "Jewelry" Wang has been hired by 5POWER to guide the team at EPICENTER, HLTV.org has learned.
The 32-year-old, who is known for his time with wNv and TyLoo in 1.6 while playing under the nickname "prom1se", will be helping the team in Moscow as they look to secure a spot in the $300,000 tournament via the wildcard qualifier.
HLTV.org knows that the decision was made after 5POWER's players were impressed by Jewelry when he stepped in for the team at the recent WESG 2018 China Finals, in Suzhou.
Wei "shuadapai" Wang's troops, who were also playing with ZhiTao "Drea3er" Zhang as a stand-in, reached the semi-finals of the tournament before being defeated 2-0 by ViCi.
5POWER earned a spot in the EPICENTER wildcard qualifier after topping the Chinese qualifier with a 2-1 victory over CyberZen in the final. In Moscow, the team will be competing with Virtus.pro, Swole Patrol and HellRaisers for two spots in the main tournament.
Before travelling to Russia, 5POWER will be attending the eXTREMESLAND 2018 Asia Finals, a $100,000 competition that will kick off on October 18.
5POWER will attend EPICENTER with:
Gan-Erdene "dobu" Batbold
Bat-Enkh "kabal" Batbayar
ZhiHai "QKA" Fu
Wei "shuadapai" Wang
Peng "xiaosaGe" Song
Nan "Jewelry" Wang (coach)
